A Return to Recitation:  Reviving the Art of Reading Aloud, a Fundraiser for the New Pants Project’s August Production of How the Light Lies (On You), Based on the Art and Life of Modernist Painter and Poet Florine Stettheimer.

An evening of exclamations, exultations, inspirations, joyful adherence to punctuation and some nice poems. Halifax's most enthusiastic poetry lovers perform their favourite pieces of poetry. Executants include: Richie Wilcox, Stewart Legere, Michael Lake, Karen Gross, Colleen MacIsaac, Lara Lewis, Zoë Sherwin, Julia Schultz, Anna Shepard, Edie Reaney Chunn, Amy Muir, and more!

Join us for the reception after the reading where you may purchase our prescription poetry to cure all your ailments: lovesickness, heartsickness, having seen a caterpillar, loving rocks and feeling lonely, loving rocks and feeling lonely, being frightened of ghosts, being frightened of toast, and a tendency to look forlornly at the water.
