Alcina, a Baroque opera by G.F. Handel

This event has passed.

Handel's opera Alcina (1735) was one of his biggest hits in early 18th century London! The story of a manipulative and seductive sorceress and those who fight back against her enchantments, this opera has stunning music. With live musicians, wonderful young singers and some of the most beautiful music ever written, this will be an extraordinary event.

In Italian, with projected English translations. Fully-staged and costumed and accompanied by keyboard and cello continuo.

These performances feature talented young singers from across Canada and the United States in town for the 15th annual Halifax Summer Opera Festival, a competitive opera training program. This is an opportunity to hear first class young singers in an intimate venue.

Tickets available with a credit card through TIcket Halifax online or at 902-422-6278, ext 500, or at The Coast's office in Halifax with cash, debit and credit.
