This event has passed.

An intimate evening featuring two Halifax bands (Ostrea Lake and Devarrow) who haven’t shared the stage together in a few years. Moe Kabbara of Ostrea Lake will be bringing his solo set using looping pedals and soundscapes.

Ostrea Lake - www.ostrealake.com
Melodically driven and carefully crafted lullabies, Ostrea Lake weaves enchanting and vivid songs that layer smooth vocals over a back drop of mandolin, electric guitar, baritone ukulele, bass, and subtle percussion.

Devarrow - www.devarrow.com
With a concise yet scratchy fusion of folk, rock, and psychedelia in a stripped-down style, Devarrow is the moniker of Canadian singer, songwriter, and multi-instruments Graham Ereaux. Blending Neil Young’s poppy poignancy, Shakey Graves’ energy and punk inspiration, and the melodic harmonies of Fleet Foxes, Devarrow makes folk music that waxes poetic while responding to the anxieties of the modern age.

Moe Kabbara - www.moekabbara.com
For the past 10 years, Moe has been exploring and absorbing sounds from Eastern European Roma music, Lebanese music, jazz manouche, indie folk, post-rock, experimental music, and ambient & atmospheric music. Powered by a guitar, a mandolin, an expressive voice, a pedalboard, synths, drum samples, and a looper, Moe has encapsulated these influences and synthesized them into a unique sound that induces dyschronometria (distorted time perception).
