Eastern Horizon Chamber Choir in Concert

February 23rd at 2:00pm & 7:30pm

Choirs for Change is excited to announce the winter concert series by the Eastern Horizon Chamber Choir!

Eastern Horizon is an intensive choral ensemble that strives for excellence. Since 2018 it has been directed by Jack Bennet and Christina Murray, with the support of collaborative pianist Lynette Wahlstrom.

This winter, the choir will be presenting a performance of music by composers from underrepresented communities - individuals whose identities have long been and continue to be marginalized within society. The choir will also premiere a number of newly commissioned works by Nova Scotian composer Ryan Henwood, and sub-Arctic Canadian composer Carmen Braden.

We hope you join us for this innovative and high-level concert!

Accessibility information: this event will be held in the sanctuary at First Baptist Church Halifax, which features a wheelchair accessible entrance. There is also a wheelchair accessible washroom located in the building. The event should last around an hour and thirty minutes, and will be in English. Several Halifax Transit buses come in close proximity to the venue. For questions, please feel welcome to message our Facebook page, or email us at choirsforchange@gmail.com.

Eastern Horizon is a choir within Choirs for Change Association, a registered non-profit organization based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Our choirs are collectives of singers and activists seeking to support social change movements through innovative choral events.
