DisabilityX(disX) is an event where you won’t hear the typical media stories of inspiration written by non-disabled journalists. At disX will hear directly from disabled artists, workers, advocates and activists, in a no nonsense setting. Their stories will make you think and possibly challenge the way you look at disability and disabled people. Not about sympathy, this is about empathy and the power one person has to transform the world around them, a world not built with their needs in mind.

disX Halifax realizes that many of the people this event is created to serve travel with a care provider.  If you have purchased a ticket and would like to request a ticket for your care provider or if you wish to attend disX but cannot afford the ticket price please contact us at disxhalifax@gmail.com and we will do our best to accommodate you.

We realize that it is not possible to anticipate the needs of every individual so if you have any accessibility needs that you feel we should know about before the event please contact us at disxhalifax@gmail.com.
