A table, a chair, a drink, a guitar on a stand. The storyteller sings songs in the old style,
or sean nós, a type of traditional folksinging from Ireland. Stories are woven around the
songs or stand alone in their own light. As Joe Heaney, the great sean nós singer from
Carna, County Galway would say, “It’s music unaccompanied that doesn’t necessarily
have a beat, but it has a pulse.”
