Upstream Quartet

The Upstream Quartet features 4 improvising composers, Geordie Haley (Guitar), Dawn Hatfield (Saxophone), Andrew Miller (Drums) and Upstream's Artistic Director Lukas Pearse (Bass) drawing upon a shocking breadth of collective musical vocabulary. Free jazz folk funk standard futuristic minimal blues classical maximalism, sounds and songs…And yet the group sounds like itself, carrying forward the expansive traditions of Upstream, decoding the inheritance of the Halifax improvisational repertoire into a cohesive unit.
Our seating is limited at The Music Room so please book early. Our audience will be socially distanced and 4 meters from the musicians.
The concert will be followed by a masked reception.
