This event has passed.

Having worked in casting for the past year (and being an actor as well), my aim for “Intro to Film Auditions” is to offer new and emerging actors information on what a film audition entails, and how it differs from theatre auditions. I know there are a lot of new, theatre-trained actors in Halifax who would like to get into film, or whose agents are going to start submitting them for film auditions this coming season.  While this workshop will provide some advice about film acting, its primary purpose will be to inform actors new to film about the structure of the audition itself: how to slate, where to stand and look, specific terms, reading sides, etc. The more mystery I can take out of it all, the better your first auditions will be! I'd also like to allow for questions and answers about working in the industry as an actor, and to provide information on doing Background work on film sets.

If you have questions about accessibility or any other aspect of this workshop, please email karen@2btheatre.com.
