Cecilia Concerts presents: Lala Lee and Mimisu Lee

Halifax sisters LaLa Lee and Mimisu Lee first dazzled hometown audiences with their unique combination of piano and French horn at age ten. Both now study at the Glenn Gould School. Last year pianist LaLa Lee was named one of CBC’s “30 Hot Classical Musicians Under 30”. She made her debut with Symphony Nova Scotia under Bernhard Gueller. Mimisu Lee has also performed with Symphony Nova Scotia along with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestral Institute at Whistler Orchestra, Scotia Festival Orchestra, Dalhousie University Symphony, Dalhousie University Wind Ensemble, the Nova Scotia Youth Orchestra, and the San Diego International Youth Orchestra. For this concert the award-winning Lee sisters perform works from the classical-romantic repertoire including by Beethoven, Chopin, and Strauss.

This concert is dedicated to Cecilia Concerts' Grand Patron, the late Peggy Corkum.

Dès l'ge de dix ans, les sœurs LaLa et Mimisu Lee ont ébloui les auditoires de la ville grce à leur combinaison unique de piano et de cor français. Toutes deux étudient maintenant à l'école Glenn Gould. L'année dernière, la pianiste LaLa Lee a été nommée l'une des « 30 musiciennes classiques de moins de 30 ans à suivre » de la CBC. Elle a fait ses débuts avec l'Orchestre symphonique de la Nouvelle-Écosse sous la direction de Bernhard Gueller. Mimisu Lee a également joué avec l'Orchestre symphonique de la Nouvelle-Écosse, le Vancouver Symphony Orchestral Institute de l'Orchestre de Whistler, le Scotia Festival Orchestra, le Dalhousie University Symphony, le Dalhousie University Wind Ensemble, le Nova Scotia Youth Orchestra et le San Diego International Youth Orchestra. Au programme : des œuvres de Chopin, Strauss et Beethoven.
