Flamenco Guitar for non-flamenco guitarists

Join Flamenco en Rouge musical director, Chris Robinson, for a great introduction to the basics of flamenco guitar. Understand the different “palos”(styles), rhythms,  posture, technique and strumming style, which gives flamenco its very distinct sound.

By the end of the one hour session, you will be able to play a basic Tangos de Triana.

Classical, folk, rock guitarists welcome.

Christopher Robinson, Musical Director, Guitarist, Composer and Arranger

Chris pursued his musical studies at Acadia University in guitar performance and began his flamenco career in 2004, performing with local groups Alma Flamenca, and then Viva Flamenco. He became musicaldirector of Flamenco en Rouge in 2011, performing, composing and arranging for the group. Chris has trained in flamenco guitar classes, notably with San Roque (Spain) guitarist  Antonio El Kuko, and with Jesus Alvarez, of Jerez de la Frontera, and in Canada with Garrett Owen. Chris is also founding member of the Bossa Nova Scotia, a guitar/percussion trio.

Chris is known for his technical virtuosity and deeply emotional and dramatic style of toque.
