Cape Breton reared songwriter and author Carmel Mikol has a command for language, tone, and structure in both text and song. Supporting the release of her latest album, 'Daughter of a Working Man', Mikol's contemplative and reflective approach to her craft boldly shines through on this 10 song offering. With honest, deliberate themes and subject matter, Carmel Mikol has ensconced audiences throughout the province and country with her authentic folk music. 

DOM FRICOT

Dom Fricot is on the verge of releasing his latest record 'DESERTS', having unboxed the first  release from the album 'Echoes'.  Incorporating progressive 80's pop styling with honest to goodness songwriting, Fricot uses each sense to explore environment, rural or urban, with a devoted approach examining all that is underfoot and within reach.  From this unending entanglement with the past and present, this BC songwriter eschews genre limits and re-defines the sounds commonly associated with folk writing. With vulnerable lyricism which takes his heart-on-sleeve honesty onto your plate, Fricot presents the scope of weighted human emotion and challenges us to engage with our inner hauntings.

'Folk rock with shades of punk' has come to describe the music of Toronto via BC troubadour Skye Wallace. A fearless performer, each live show encapsulates the fevered energy of a bubble on the border of a burst. Wallace's well respected live show not only highlights a talent for performance, but acts as a platform to present her deliberate narrative fuelled songwriting. The folk tradition is carried and re-invigorated by the focused stories and haunting songs this songwriter has introduced to the contemporary Canadian musical landscape.
