Warm up for Valentines’s Day with Aphrodisia: an Evening of Erotica in support of LunaSea Theatre
On February 27th at 7:30pm at the Company House, 2202 Gottingen Street, a group of the Hali-famous will be reading selections of erotica joined by T. Thomason and other musical guests to celebrate LunaSea Theatre’s tenth anniversary season and to support their upcoming production of Slut: the Play.
“LunaSea is excited to have collected such a rich and diverse group of people wellknown to Haligonians for an evening that will titillate and warm your way into Valentine’s Day as we launch into our tenth year of creating new work and making theatrical waves in Nova Scotian theatre,” says LunaSea co-founder and co-Artistic Director Martha Irving.
Ryanne Chisholm, who recently joined the team with Martha Irving and Mary-Colin Chisholm as the newest co-Artistic Director says, “This is the perfect event to support our up-coming Halifax production of Slut: the Play, which is a show that focuses on sexual violence and rape culture. It’s timely to both produce and celebrate a sexpositive atmosphere while illuminating issues of consent.”
Performers include: Donna Morrissey (award-winning and national best-selling author of Kit’s Law), T. Thomason (Halifax indie-music sensation), Jeremie Saunders (Sickboy podcast) and his wife Bryde MacLean (Turn Me On podcast), Megan McDowell (The Coast’s winner for favourite comedian for the last 2 years), Liz Crocker (Woozles and P’lovers), Ian Gilmore (aka Mrs. MacCreedy), slam poet Deirdre Lee, Adam Reid (Executive Director of Halifax Pride), Rosie Porter (wellknown Halifax Realtor), Lenore Zann (MLA, Truro), Peggy Walt (publicist), GaRRy Williams (music composer, KAMP: the musical), and a cappella singing group Women Next Door.
