SINGLE PERFORMANCE ONLY!

After premiering to a sold out audience at the 2013 Solo-icious Festival, LIONESS, newly revamped and extended, is back by popular demand and making it's World Premiere at the Marigold Cultural Centre in Truro, Nova Scotia from January 15th to the 17th.

Following the run in Truro, LIONESS will return to the The Bus Stop Theatre in Halifax on January 24th for a special “One Night Stand” performance.

Created and performed by Truro’s own, Wayne Burns, LIONESS follows the parent/teacher meeting between Maria, a young inner city mother, and Mrs. Green, a private school teacher, regarding the recent behaviour and academic progress of Maria’s 8-year-old son, George. This hilariously candid and heart-warming piece speaks to themes of motherhood, single parenting, class privilege, the special bond between mothers and their children and the pressures that come with being the sole provider for an intergenerational household.

Run time: 50-60 minutes.
