Mocean Dance presents Ordinary Rebels

Thu, Jan 21, 2016 at 8pm

Ordinary Rebels, Mocean Dance’s winter Mainstage production, puts its dancers on the front lines of contemporary dance.  This season, Mocean joins forces with Montreal’s critically acclaimed Parts+Labour_Danse to present the world premiere of Stealing Fire – an arresting trio by Emily Guaaultieri, and the compelling solo piece performed by guest artist David Albert-Toth. La Chute,  the 2015 Audience Choice Award-winner at Toronto’s “dance: made in Canada Festival”.  http://www.partsandlabourdanse.com/works-oeuvres/la-chute/

Also marking its world premiere is Mocean Co-Artistic Director Sara Coffin’s duet standing alone facing you – a magnetic study of external reality versus personal perception.

Catch two free-of-charge warm-ups for Ordinary Rebels at Paul O’Regan Performance Hall, Halifax Central Library. On December 17, 6:30 pm get a short glimpse of Coffin’s standing alone facing you. January 7, 7 pm take in a few Ordinary Rebels vignettes and listen as Emily Gualtieri and David Albert-Toth share their insights into dance creation.

Groups of 6 or more are eligible for a discounted ticket rate of $18 per person. To purchase your group tickets, contact the Ticket Halifax box office at 902-422-6278
